On the 21st of January 2017, Fitzpatrick New Homes held a Public Consultation Event in the High Chelmer Shopping Mall. The event took place to obtain feedback from the local community on a revised concept to deliver between 120-130 new private and affordable apartments on the site of the former Dukes nightclub.

The planning application for this development has now been submitted to Chelmsford City Council.  

 

To show support for our plans, you may wish to submit your comments via the council's website. The process is quick and easy, and can be done in five minutes.

Our Vision

​Set in the heart of Chelmsford city centre, the Duke Street development will offer city living with direct links to local transport hubs. Our new homes will surround a residential courtyard which will be a place of rest and relaxation.

About The Site

The vacant Duke Street site is centered between the newly redeveloped Chelmsford station and the regenerated Genesis site. The demand for new homes for local people in the city centre  makes the site a prime location for a mixed use development, combining retail and residential uses.

In May 2015 planning consent was granted for 84 new apartments, approximately 755sqm of commercial/retail units, parking, public realm and footpath improvements...
